Coach John Williams has been a journeymen golf coach for over fifteen years. He has served as a varsity golf coach and private golf instructor at several locations throughout the United States.
Coach Williams has enjoyed many successes throughout his career. His pride and joy has been his efforts to create several golf programs from scratch. One such effort included taking a Texas charter school golf program from its infancy to regional success in just four seasons. He led The North Hills School girls golf team to the 2003 and 2004 Regional VII Golf Tournament in Stephenville, Texas (Tarleton State University) twice, placing 3rd out of 18 teams each time (team scores of 390 and 383). Another storied success included helping lead the Cedar Rapids Washington Senior High School girls’ team to an Iowa State High School Golf Championship in 1999 (average team score was 363). This program enjoyed continued success winning the Iowa State Golf in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
Coach Williams has also been instrumental in help development other junior golf programs as well. He worked as a program director for the Jane Boyd House in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Open Fairways of Denver, Colorado from 1995 through 2007.
Coach Williams strongly believes that athletics and academics go hand in hand with helping develop strong character, work ethic, and commitment to excellence. He feels blessed to have the opportunity to continue helping others enjoy the game that lasts a lifetime.
